The You Yangs
The
You Yangs are a small set of hills a short drive southwest of
Melbourne. From a scenery point of view they're like a mini Mt
Buffalo with granite boulders and exposed rock faces. On a clear
day you can see all of the way across Port Phillip Bay along the
Mornington Peninsula and up to Melbourne and beyond.
The park isn't big enough for overnight walks but there are some
good day walks in this island of forest.
For those that might be interested, the photo below is what a
rainbow looks like when shot on infrared film. If you look near the
top of the rainbow you will notice that there are extra bands,
effectively filling the gap between what should have been two
separate rainbows.
