Terragen Animations.

While it has long been possible to produce animations of Terragen landscapes there remains a wide range of possibilities that do not seem to have been explored... at least not to the point of including extra features in GUI script creators.  I originally started this set of notes to document an animation project combining a rotating star field map with a Terragen fly through... but I got so side tracked by all of the possibilities that appeared that it will now cover most of what I have developed.

Each section is like a mini proof of concept project, firstly proving that something is possible and then attempting to find a practical method of doing it. Topics will include.

  • Additional Software
  • Morphed world files
Simulate time lapse photography, lighting control, changes of weather.
  • Animating the sun and moon
Realistic sun paths for any time of year... on any planet.
  • Extreme wide angle lenses
    Imax, omnimax and beyond
  • Automating rendering
Automatic creation of multi-layered PSD documents for advanced one shot masking. The command line is your best friend  ;-)
  • Render farming via RDC
