FM2PTV: Global Applet Parameters

Screenshot

Most of the parameters on this screen are pretty self explanatory. Some changes will be made to this section to ease option selection. While all of the options on this layout are global, to generate the correct code you also need to add a panorama numbered -1.  The distributed database contains this record as well as a blank pano (0) showing the current auto entered data.

Auto File Naming

FM2PTV allows for automatic naming of files and various options can be set here.

  • Panos are given a 3 digit number based on the PANO parameter.
  • A prefix may be specified for all images to allow for multiple large projects in a single directory (although I normally wouldn't do this)
  • Default Image Type specifies the file extension to add to pano images. This is useful for generating different versions of the same tour when using encryption, e.g.  a JPG version for local testing and a JPC version for posting.
  • The path to pano images can be specified and will be automatically added to the file name. This makes it easy to move files if needed.
  • Path to Graphics specifies the path to other images such as hotspot and shotspot images.
  • All wait, frame and hotspot maps are assumed to be GIF images.
  • Wait, frame and hotspot maps have the corresponding suffix added to the pano image name.

Hotspot description delimiter

This parameter specifies the character to be used delimit the hotspot description text. This is to allow for the use of an ' in popup text.

e.g. {hotspot10=X58.5 Y66.95 p e i$+St Mary's College+}

Global SHotspots

These are on a separate layout purely for convenience.  Shotpots can be added or removed from this list and pano shotspots will be automatically renumbered to follow on from these.

Global Pano Parameters

Global panorama parameters must be specified in the Panoramas layout in Pano -1.

Inits

You can specify a number of sets of inits to be used by various panos within the tour, with a corresponding description for what the init does.  You can then select one or more of these to be used by each pano.  The inits are added in the order they appear so it is important to order them correctly so that combinations will perform as you expect them to.

Use the first item for the default inits that you want to use for most of your panos.
